Ministry of Education: 71 universities nationwide set up related disciplines around artificial intelligence, science and innovation education ushered in a period of rapid development
On June 8, the Ministry of Education held a press conference in Hangzhou to announce the latest progress and achievements of the AI Innovation Action Plan in China's higher education institutions. According to the content of the notice, as of December 2017, 71 universities nationwide have set up 86 secondary or interdisciplinary disciplines around the field of artificial intelligence. Among the first batch of 612 research and practice projects of "New Engineering" in universities nationwide this year, 57 projects of artificial intelligence have been laid out and constructed. The Ministry of Education has agreed to support Zhejiang University in building a collaborative innovation center for artificial intelligence to accelerate the establishment of a "highland" for independent innovation and talent training in the field of artificial intelligence in China.
